Trust
We've been stranded too
Red Eye Fund was built by people who have slept upright in Terminal 2. So instead of trust badges and stock photos of handshakes, here is plainly how we work, what we promise, and - just as important - what we refuse to promise.
We only get paid if you do
Our fee is 25% of the compensation we recover. If your claim fails, you pay EUR 0. Not a reduced fee, not an admin charge - nothing. The airline pays your compensation directly to you; we invoice our share afterwards. Your money never passes through our hands, and we have zero incentive to chase claims that won't pay out. Your win is literally our business model.
We never oversell
Under EU261 and UK261, compensation is EUR 250, 400, or 600 per passenger depending on route distance - for delays of 3+ hours on arrival, cancellations with under 14 days' notice, denied boarding, or missed connections. But nobody can guarantee a payout, including us. Extraordinary circumstances such as severe weather or air traffic control strikes are excluded by law. Our eligibility checker is built to tell you that upfront: if the honest answer is "probably not", that is exactly what you'll hear, before you've given us anything.
No courtroom theatrics
We pursue claims through the airline's complaint process and, when airlines dig their heels in, through the free national enforcement bodies and ADR schemes that exist for exactly this. We do not take claims to court. If a claim would only ever pay out through court action, we decline it honestly, tell you why, and you owe us nothing. We'd rather say no than string you along.
A human reads every claim
Our AI handles the fast first pass on eligibility, but every submitted claim is reviewed by a person before anything is sent to an airline. Automation for speed; humans for judgment.
You can watch every step
No black box, no "we'll be in touch". Every claim gets a live status you can check any time at /pages/claim-status - from submitted, to filed with the airline, to escalated, to paid. If something changes, you see it.
Your data leaves when your claim does
- We collect only what the claim needs: name, email, optional phone number, booking reference, flight details, and your Letter of Authority. Nothing else.
- Once your compensation is paid and settled, we issue you a receipt and then erase your personal data. All we keep is an amounts-only ledger for accounting.
- Want out sooner? Ask at any time - win, lose, or mid-claim - and your data is deleted.
Security, in plain words
- Claim data is held on Cloudflare's EU-capable edge storage and on Shopify - the same checkout-grade platform that runs this site.
- We never ask for your card or bank details to make a claim. The airline pays your compensation directly to you - there is nothing payment-shaped for us to hold.
- Chat and eligibility checks run on Cloudflare Workers AI, and your messages are never used to train models.
Still deciding? Good - that's the point
Skepticism is a healthy trait in someone who's been left at a gate at 2am. Ask us anything through the on-site chat and you'll get a straight answer. When you're ready, starting a claim takes a few minutes at /pages/claim - and if we can't recover your money, it costs you exactly nothing.
